Why I Built This
Hey there! I'm the solo developer behind Philippine Tax Calculator β a project I started from my own curiosity about how taxes work in the Philippines. As a fellow Filipino, I wanted to better understand income taxes, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions, and help others do the same.
That's why I built this tool: to help anyone quickly and confidently check and validate their numbers β no guesswork, no spreadsheets, no stress.
The Mission
I genuinely care about making financial information more transparent and less overwhelming. This calculator is my way of sharing what I've learned and making it easier for you to navigate tax responsibilities and plan ahead with confidence.
No jargon. No hidden fees. Just a clean, accurate tool built for Filipinos, by a Filipino.
Transparency
This site is free to use. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, and I do not store or sell your calculation data. Ads, where shown, help keep it free. You can learn more about the data practices in the privacy policy.
What Makes This Tool Different?
- Up-to-date: Built on the latest BIR tax tables and contribution rules β and I stay on top of changes!
- Clean & simple: Minimal design, clear and straightforward results
- 100% free: Always. No hidden fees.
- For everyone: Employees, freelancers, business owners, or anyone curious about their take-home pay.
- Private by design: Calculations happen in your browser; I donβt store or transmit your numbers.
Methodology & Sources
Every figure this calculator produces is grounded in official Philippine government data. I do not invent rates or make assumptions beyond what the rules allow. The core references the engine is built on are:
- Income tax — the graduated withholding tables under the TRAIN Law (R.A. 10963) and CREATE Act (R.A. 11534), published by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
- SSS — employee contribution rate and the Monthly Salary Credit schedule (₱5,000–₱35,000) per SSS circulars including Circular 2024-006.
- PhilHealth — the premium rate under the Universal Health Care Act (R.A. 11223), per PhilHealth.
- Pag-IBIG — the membership contribution rate and monthly cap, per the Home Development Mutual Fund.
You can read plain-English explanations of how each part works in our guides: income tax brackets explained, SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG contributions, and how take-home pay is computed.
How the Calculator Is Validated
Accuracy matters for a tool like this, so I treat it seriously. The calculation engine is checked against a growing set of worked examples and regression cases — real salary figures tested end-to-end from gross pay down to net take-home. When a rule changes (for example, the SSS minimum Monthly Salary Credit moving from ₱4,500 to ₱5,000, or the de minimis limits under RR 29-2025), I update the engine and re-run every case to make sure nothing else broke.
The guides are held to the same standard. Before an article is published, every rate, threshold, and deadline in it is checked against primary sources — the text of the Tax Code (NIRC), BIR revenue regulations and circulars, SSS/PhilHealth/Pag-IBIG issuances, and the statute texts themselves (e.g., the TRAIN and CREATE Acts) — and cross-checked against established tax advisories. Each guide names the provision it relies on (like Section 24(D) for the 6% real-estate CGT, or Section 116 for the 3% percentage tax) so you can verify the rule yourself. When a rule changes, the affected guides are updated and re-dated rather than left stale.
That said, this is an estimation and education tool, not a substitute for official advice. Please read our Tax & Financial Disclaimer, and always confirm important numbers with a qualified professional or the relevant agency.
A Solo Project
I'm always learning, validating, and updating the calculator. This isn't a big company β just one developer who believes everyone deserves access to clear financial tools.
